Key Considerations in Selecting a LIMS

Five Signs That It Is Time To Invest in a New LIMS will focus on the fact that the needs for an environmental laboratory will evolve over time and the functionality of a modern LIMS needs to keep pace to support changing regulatory compliance requirements.  A LIMS is a mission-critical system for any laboratory.  Not only does a LIMS manage the day-to-day lab operations but it also performs a wide range of tasks from managing the laboratory resources (including equipment maintenance, calibration records and employee training documentation) to providing real-time monitoring of key laboratory metrics, audit trails and corrective/preventative actions. This presentation will review five key signs that let you know if it is time to invest in a new LIMS.

Key Considerations in Selecting a LIMS will provide attendees with a detailed review of factors to consider when evaluating LIMS solutions today. This presentation will cover the basic requirements that all laboratories share while also highlighting the specific needs of environmental laboratories. These include two EPA requirements, CROMERR Title 40 Section 3, which addresses electronic reporting directly to the EPA and Good Automated Laboratory Practices (GALP). Also important for environmental laboratories is the ability of a LIMS to ensure compliance with ISO 17025 and NELAP (National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program) Certification.

ATL has been a leader in laboratory automation solutions since 1994 and has an especially strong reputation in the environmental sector. With our market leading LIMS solutions, Sample Master® and TITAN®, along with our complementary web portal (Result Point®), field data collection products (Sample Master® iMobile and TITAN® iMobile) and instrument integration services, ATL provides a complete LIMS solutions platform for environmental laboratories.
