Connecting People and Ideas to Improve the LIMS Experience
ATL LIMS USERS GET INNOVATIVE
In a recent webcast, we showcased two ATL clients who are successfully using LIMS to bring innovation to their labs. This post will focus on Monterey Bay Analytical Services (MBAS), a CA ELAP certified inorganic water quality chemistry lab. In 2022, the lab needed new processes in order to manage a complex project—testing for the California Water Board’s AG order 4.0, which regulates discharge from irrigated lands. This is an ongoing project.
LIMS and SCADA Combine to Meet Regulatory Requirements for Direct Potable Reuse
The water/wastewater industry is facing increased regulation of greater complexity. Laboratories today must do more with fewer resources and are challenged to meet deadlines or issue alerts in a timely manner. They struggle to contact all required agencies and provide reports in different formats.
Hosted LIMS Secure Data and Prevent Cyberattacks for Municipalities
Recent news stories have recounted several instances of data breaches leading to the destruction of valuable data and unauthorized access to personal information, especially in the public sector. To protect your organization, you need to store your data securely with proven solutions and processes.
Top 5 Reasons to Move your LIMS to the Cloud
Your IT infrastructure and Sample Master® LIMS are mission critical to your laboratory operations. While you might feel uneasy about letting a third-party manage them, you should consider the many benefits of a hosted LIMS.
Scientific Advances in Wastewater
At ATL, we’re committed to working closely with the water/wastewater industry. We think you’ll enjoy this Technology News article about an exciting discovery by environmental geoscientists. A team in Vienna tracks traces of an artificial sweetener, acesulfame, in wastewater, as it is not metabolized in the human body.
ATL LIMS is METRC Validated in Nine States
ATL is committed to working with the cannabis industry, and made METRC validation a priority. Our LIMS are used in cannabis labs across the nation for safety and purity testing as well as compliance. METRC stands for Marijuana Enforcement Tracking and Compliance.
LIMS and Positive Sample ID: Reducing Irreversible Medical Errors
Errors occur every day in healthcare facilities worldwide, and sometimes these errors prove fatal. Sample and Specimen identification errors are more frequent than you would believe, and are reported as the most common laboratory error.
Let’s Talk about LIMS—Join us for an ATL Webcast
We’re kicking off a new webcast series starting on January 18 with “The Importance of a Complete LIMS Solution: Don’t Forget the Enhancements, Support and Training!” This is the first of our complimentary monthly presentations for 2023.
CDC Offers LIMS Training
You may not be aware that the CDC offers introductory laboratory informatics training classes. The Introduction to Laboratory Information curriculum consists of three classes: Introduction to Laboratory informatics: Life of a Specimen; Introduction to Laboratory Informatics: Life of a Result; and Introduction to the LIMS and Other Information Systems.
ATL LIMS Support PFAS Testing
We’re hearing a lot of buzz from our users about an emerging challenge for the water/wastewater industry – per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) testing. PFAS are man-made chemicals that have been used in industry and consumer products worldwide since the 1950s.
ATL Named a Key Player in LIMS Market Growth
A recent article in European Pharmaceutical Review identified ATL as a major contributor to impressive growth in the global LIMS market-projected to reach $3.56B by 2030. ATL has been a leader in LIMS and lab automation for more than 25 years.
LIMS, Laboratory Automation Software and Data Integrity
Today’s technology enables the creation of vast amounts of data. This data must be collected, tracked, managed, retrieved, and used to support compliance. To succeed in this environment, a LIMS is no longer a luxury but a necessity.
LIMS Implementation: Don’t Let Fear of Change Stand in your Way
Your lab is barely keeping up. Work volume is increasing, resources are strained. Tools are old and outdated. Processes are manual and time-consuming. You have researched LIMS implementation and it sounds like a great solution. But is it worth the time and effort?
