LIMS: The Backbone to Your Quality Management System (QMS)

LIMS: The Backbone to Your Quality Management System (QMS) will be a presentation that will show how a LIMS can be used as the backbone of a lab’s Quality Management System (QMS), with a focus on ISO 17025 accreditation. A strong QMS starts with the ability to store and secure data that has been produced and validated with proper COC, QA/QC, traceability and a complete audit trail. The typical LIMS will provide this functionality, but a strong QMS should also address the major requirements found in ISO 17025, including:  Structural Requirements, Resource Requirements, Process Requirements and Management System Requirements.

Achieving and maintaining ISO 17025 accreditation is a must for many petrochemical and environmental companies as it is a proven indicator of technical competence for testing and calibration laboratories. We will walk through the key sections of ISO 17025 and demonstrate how the LIMS helps an organization achieve and maintain compliance annually.

ATL will be showcasing its market-leading LIMS solutions, TITAN® and Sample Master®, along with a set of exciting enhancement products that enhance the capabilities of both LIMS. TITAN represents the next generation in LIMS by incorporating ERP capabilities along with an integrated Report Designer. Sample Master is ATL’s flagship LIMS, now on Version 10 and with a host of new functionality. ATL also offers SaaS deployment options for clients wishing to leverage a hosted, managed solution in the cloud.

ATL, headquartered in West End, NC, provides total data management solutions to a variety of industries from food & beverage, analytical, environmental, water and wastewater, chemical, government, public health, clinical testing, forensics and manufacturing. ATL’s LIMS products are installed in over 575 laboratories around the world and supported by a steadfast commitment to excellence in product quality, support and training.

The Gulf Coast Conference (GCC) is a non-profit organization oriented toward the education and advancement of knowledge of chemical analysis technology associated with the petrochemical, refining and environmental fields. The GCC will forward this goal through annual technical meetings, regular communications, and training courses focused on these fields. For more information visit: 2019 Gulf Coast Conference.
