August 29, 2022: Accelerated Technology Laboratories, Inc. (ATL), a leader in Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), a leader in Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), is pleased to announce its METRC (Marijuana Enforcement Tracking Reporting Compliance) verification in Massachusetts. ATL has been METRC verified in California, Colorado, Maryland, Michigan, Nevada, Ohio, and Oregon, and has future plans for additional states. With this addition, ATL Sample Master® LIMS can now interface with METRC in eight key states.

METRC is a regulatory compliance system for the cannabis industry that is designed to track cannabis production from seed to sale. METRC ensures compliance by identifying and tagging plants and then tracking the progress of the plants through harvest and continuing to transformation as cannabis products available for sale. METRC will also track cannabis sales in each state – this step will complete the METRC goal of tracking all cannabis production and to ensure products are safe for consumption.

Benefits of the METRC interface include:

  • The ability for regional cannabis licensees or commercial testing laboratories to use ATL’s LIMS to electronically transmit inventory and sales data into a state’s METRC system, eliminating the need for manual entry and potential data quality issues.
  • ATL’s LIMS users will be able to track the history of all known cannabis inventory, starting with plants and continuing through harvest and sale through distributors and dispensaries. Both LIMS have comprehensive traceability features that will satisfy any audit or reporting requirements.

“ATL is well-positioned to be the laboratory automation provider for the cannabis industry with its proven commitment to quality as an ISO Certified Partner,” said Christine Paszko, ATL’s Sr. Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “With the addition of METRC validation in Massachusetts, ATL continues its commitment to the rapidly growing cannabis industry and the importance of proper product tracking, reporting and compliance. We look forward to METRC validation in additional states soon.”
